Survey checklist · what to collect

For each floor, name an origin corner and X/Y directions. Measure several long spans and a diagonal where accessible. Plan positions alone are not measured coordinates.

Walls: endpoints, length, thickness and height. Doors/windows: host wall, corner offset, width/height, sill or swing. Columns: size and offsets from two perpendicular references. Electrical: position and mounting height. Furniture: approximate footprint and seats.

Use Plan reference point for named corners: choose an origin (X=0, Y=0) per floor, describe the X/Y directions, and record measured corner offsets. Use Stair / ramp and Floor opening for those features. Use one guided record per object. Add photos and note which wall face or object corner you measured. Record stairs, floor openings and level-to-level heights separately from ceiling heights. Never guess inaccessible dimensions. Mark measured versus estimated values and instrument accuracy in the guided fields. Slab thickness and elevations can remain unknown until verified. This captures a concept layout; panel capacity, circuit routing and electrical design require separate verified information.

Visible services: use Ventilation duct, Pipe run or Cable tray / conduit for each straight segment. Start a new segment at a bend, branch, size or height change; name matching junction points. Locate endpoints with Plan reference point records. Measure outside size (including insulation) and underside height above that floor at each end. Photograph route context and visible labels; unknown systems and hidden routes stay unknown. You do not need to trace individual cables for this concept model.

Also record Beam / soffit, Ceiling zone (including height changes), and Fixed equipment / fixture for vents, radiators, sinks or visible safety devices. Use Clearance / constraint for clear passages, exits and other fixed restrictions. Measured clearances are observations; they do not certify code compliance. Use the same checklist on both floors and note which items are absent, inaccessible or outside scope.

Project evidence: record Wi-Fi and light readings from external tools (this app does not scan Wi-Fi or measure lux). Record device/tool, conditions and local time. Occupancy counts include seats and charging points for a clearly bounded area. Repeat at different times. Network / power infrastructure records visible labels and known connections; leave unverified capacity unknown.

Use Floor alignment link for corresponding points and vertical separation across floors. Use Feedback / requirement, Design comparison and Cost item to link each proposal to evidence, targets and estimated costs. Add Existing / proposed and evidence sources to records. Use different option names for alternative proposals; do not sum overlapping occupancy areas or mutually exclusive costs. Project checks flag some reference/length and opening conflicts; they do not solve floor alignment or certify a complete model.
